Bodega Cerrón is a family estate which planted its first vineyards of Monastrell or Mourvèdre in 1895 in the village of Fuente Àlamo in the region of Albacete which will be become the Jumilla appellation from 1966. In 1950 the family built a cellar and started producing for local consumption. Later on the estate took the leap to organic farming and got the certification in 1995. They have then started to practice biodynamic farming as well. The vineyards are located at an altitude between 700 to 800 meters on clay, sandy and limestone soils with a near perfect sanitary conditions with few diseases and pests. Juan José Cerdán and Llaria Martini are the 4th generation of winegrowers at the estate now in charge. They have been focusing exclusively on quality doing manual harvest and it takes only 30 minutes to reach the cellar from the vineyards, as well as fermenting with indigenous yeasts. They have also extended the varieties planted to internationals' with Chardonnay for the white and Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot for the red in addition to Monastrell and Tempranillo. Their range offers an unbeatable value for money with fine and complex wines at very affordable prices.
